WHEREAS, Thomas Philip Tappy was initiated into the Lambda Chapter at the University of Georgia on September 27, 1961; and
WHEREAS, he diligently served his chapter as Warden, Historian and Rush Chairman; and
WHEREAS, he has admirably served Pi Kappa Phi as an Area Governor, National Secretary, National Historian, National Vice President, National President and Past National President; and
WHEREAS, through his leadership as the first Chairman of Project P.U.S.H., the philanthropic undertaking of Pi Kappa Phi, has become internationally recognized; and
WHEREAS, the chapters, Mu, Alpha Alpha, Gamma Eta, Gamma Kappa, Gamma Nu, Gamma Xi, Gamma Sigma, Gamma Psi, and Delta Rho were formed or organized through his efforts; and
WHEREAS, his devotion to Pi Kappa Phi is evidenced through his sharing of time and knowledge to the brotherhood as a speaker at numerous charterings, Founder's Days, Rose Balls, conclaves and Pi Kapp College; and
WHEREAS, through his contacts in the business world he has assisted numerous members of Pi Kappa Phi in their search for employment and served the Leadership Consultants as an advisor, counselor and friend;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Thomas Philip Tappy be extended the Fraternity's highest honor in deep appreciation for his past, present and future involvement and dedication; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the National Council of Pi Kappa Phi does hereby declare Thomas Philip Tappy is officially designated Mr. Pi Kappa Phi for 1985.
