Quickenton, Arthur John

Arthur Quickenton was named Mr. Pi Kappa Phi in 2021.

WHEREAS, the Supreme Chapter of the Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity has established the Mr. Pi Kappa Phi Award as its highest and most prestigious honor to be bestowed upon a member; and

WHEREAS, Arthur "Art" John Quickenton was initiated as the 192nd member of the Delta Zeta Chapter at Appalachian State University on November 14, 1980; and

WHEREAS, shortly after graduation, he was appointed to the PUSH America Board of Directors; and

WHEREAS, he served the Delta Zeta chapter in various advisor positions, including Alumni Advisor, Philanthropy Advisor, Faculty Advisor and Chapter Advisor from 1982 to 2008; and

WHEREAS, in addition to his local alumni leadership, Brother Quickenton served as an Area Governor in the Blue Ridge Region; and

WHEREAS, he helped steward the greatest Pi Kappa Phi celebration in its history as we celebrated one hundred years through his support to the Centennial Commission; and

WHEREAS, Brother Quickenton was inducted into the Nu Phi Society in 1992; and

WHEREAS, Brother Andrews was awarded Chapter Advisor of the Year in 1984, Regional Governor of the Year in 1986 and a Merit Citation in 1996; and

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Brother Quickenton be extended Pi Kappa Phi's deepest appreciation for his proven love of and devotion to his fraternity; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the National Council of the Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity, acting with the authority entrusted to it by the Supreme Chapter, does hereby declare Brother Arthur "Art" John Quickenton to be Mr. Pi Kappa Phi 2021.
