Founding
Edward Lawrence Powers Jr., Alpha (College of Charleston), and Mary Eleanor Fogarty Powers, descendants of Founder Simon Fogarty, present the University of Texas-Austin with a portrait of Simon Fogarty. The portrait was taken when Fogarty was 21 years of age.
The Legacy Lives On
Aside from their legacies as Founders, Simon Fogarty and Andrew Alexander Kroeg Jr. live on as namesakes for the Fogarty Award and Pi Kappa Phi Foundation Kroeg Society Foundation, respectively. Toward the end of the Founders' lives, Pi Kappa Phi officers urged members to pay their respects to each Founder. Members ran with this request and expressed their gratitude not only for the living Founders but for national officials as well. The legacy of the Founders lives on in the exceptional men who join Pi Kappa Phi and the pride that members take in their brotherhood.
