Simon Fogarty
Simon Fogarty was born the fourth child to his family on June 7, 1887. As a student at the College of Charleston at age 17, Fogarty joined with his friends to found Pi Kappa Phi. In the Fraternity’s early years, Fogarty actively and happily participated in principal decisions. He designed the brotherhood pin and assisted with the development of rituals. Fogarty attended few national events until the passing of co-founder Lawrence Harry Mixson. He participated more actively in his last four years than the rest of his life.
Fogarty passed away on February 22, 1966, at age 78.
