Lawrence Harry Mixson was born on August 18, 1867, to William Hampton Mixson and Hannah Marie Quirollo Mixson. At the College of Charleston at age 16, he founded Pi Kappa Phi alongside Andrew Alexander Kroeg Jr. and Simon Fogarty. During the earliest meetings, Mixson was chosen as the Fraternity secretary. By 1906, he became Chairman, then Archon and Eminent Supreme Historian. He also wrote Pi Kappa Phi’s initiation ritual in 1906. Throughout his life, Mixson felt pride over his achievements as a Founder.
Mixson passed away on March 10, 1962, at age 74.
